Hi there,

Welcome! My name is Viviana and I currently reside with my husband and two children in Chilliwack, BC. I have completed the Provincial Instructor Diploma Program offered by the School of Instructor Education at VCC. I also hold a Bachelor of Science, in Life Science from UBC.

Throughout my university degree I have also focused on Philosophy, German, French, Religion, Medical Ethics and Spanish, in addition to Microbiology, Chemistry, Mathematics, Biology and Biochemistry.

My future goal is to revolutionize the manner in which Science is taught, shifting the focus of the Adult Educator from a Content Expert to that of a Facilitator, emphasizing self-directed learning, experiential and transformative learning! I will also aim to discuss the emerging trends and roles of the adult educator, effective instructional strategies, visible learning, student engagement and curriculum design and I hope you will find many useful resources in regard to the ever changing field of Adult Education.

I have been a speaker on various occasions at the Adult Basic Education Association of BC Conference. I have also published two articles in Groundwork which focused on Motivation and Educator Wellness.

In my spare time I love to read, hike, paddle board and skate with my husband and two young children. I also volunteer as a Mathematics tutor in the Upgrading and University Preparation Department at UFV. On the horizon, I hope to pursue a Master’s Degree in Education in Post-Secondary Curriculum and Instruction. Thanks for stopping by!
